Submitted by Marilyn Morgan 10 March 2004 ************************************************************************ Items from the Galesville, WI Republican, dated May 26, 1938 Mrs. Lud Emerson Dies at North Bend North Bend, May 24.--- Funeral services for Mrs. Lud Emerson, who died May 17, were held Friday from the Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. E. O. Dirks. She suffered a severe attack of influenza this spring. She was ill several weeks and was for a time hospitalized. Mrs. Emerson was In her 67th year. Her maiden name was Alice Larson, she being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lars P. Larson, of Ettrick. She is survived by her husband, four sons and two daughters. There are seven grandchildren. George Larson, of Ettrick, is a brother. Through her years in this community Mrs. Emerson was ever active in community work. At the time of her death she was manager of North Bend Camp, R. N. A. ++++++++++++++++ George Wild was a county seat business caller this week. ++++++++++++++++ Mr. & Mrs. Roy Johnson and Mrs. Mary Mohs were in Winona this week. ++++++++++++++++ Mrs. Ruth Sawyer, of Melrose. Was a Thursday visitor at the home of her mother. ++++++++++++++++ Mr. & Mrs. Earl Fisher, of Sparta, were week-end visitors at the Lloyd Milbright home. ++++++++++++++++ Edmund Johnson returned Sunday to Galesville, after a week at the Mohs- Johnson home here. ++++++++++++++++ A number from here attended the funeral of the late A.
