Boland Death came unexpectedly early Monday morning to Mrs. Andrew M. Boland, 61, at her home in the town of Glencoe. Though she was not acutely ill at the time, she had suffered heart attacks on previous occasions. Gertrude Bill, daughter of John and Anna Bill, was born April 3, 1882, on a farm in Bill's Valley. She received her education in the parochial and public schools of Arcadia, following which she taught for five years in rural schools of this vicinity. On June 14, 1904, she was united in marriage with Andrew Boland, and the couple engaged in farming. She was an active member of the Christian Mothers society. Survivors are her husband, four sons, Joseph and Danile of Arcadia, Bernard of Winona and David (twin of Daniel) on combat duty in the South Pacific; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Luella) Kathrade and Mary Ann Boland, both of Milwaukee, and Eileen of Arcadia; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Burr of Santa Monica, Calif. and Mrs. James (Agnes) Cantlon of Ettrick; two brothers, Joseph Bill of Arcadia and Edward Bill of Winona. Preceding her in death were two sons, Maurice and Clarence, and one sister, Mrs. P P. (Sarah) Filla of Independence. The funeral was held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church. Rev. Charles Wolf officiated at the requiem high mass. Interment was in the cemetery of St. Joseph's Catholic church at Glencoe. Pallbearers were six nephews: Linus and Werner Bill, James, Jr. and Robert Boland, Andrew and Laverne Baecker. Mrs. Boland has gone to a reward which she richly deserves. Her ideals were high, and her goodness of heart will remain as a memory and an inspiration to all who mourn her passing. - Newspaper unknown.
