Gibson, prominent Blair woman, passed away at her home here Thursday, May 14th after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon with the Rev. L.W. Halvorson officiating. Music for the service was provided by Mrs. F.W. Herreld and Mrs. A. J. Sather who sang "In the Garden" and "The 23rd Psalm" accompanied by Mrs. Lawrence Holven. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were C.B. Immell, A.M. Hogan, O.I. Slette, W.H. Melby, W.E. Schroeder and P.E. Bersing. The large number of friends and relatives to attend the last rites bore mute testimony to the love and esteem in which "Aunt Mae" was held by all. As Mary Elizabeth Ellison, Mrs. Gibson was born on what is now the Ray Solberg farm west of Blair on October 30, 1877 and lived there until her marriage to Charles Gibson of Blair, which took place March 31, 1896. The young couple established a home in Blair and except for a year spent in Iowa; this city had been her home since. Mrs. Gibson was a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star and of the MNC club and took an active part in lodge and church work until her health began failing about eight years ago. She was presented the Life Membership pin by the Ladies Aid of the Zion Lutheran Church only a few days before her death. Surviving her are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Milton (Merle) Frederixon, Blair; Mrs. Harold (Evelyn) Johnson and Mrs. E.C. Petersburg (Virginia), Minneapolis and Mrs. Stanley (Leitha) Ouradnik of Stillwater, Minn.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Charles Schanke of Oceanside, Calif. And Mrs. Etta Steffre of El Segundo, Calif.; two half sisters, Mrs. Gus Brandt of Venice, Calif. And Mrs. Grace Van Sickle of Hixton; three step sisters, Mrs. Nora Van Alstyne of Bloomer, Mrs. Hubert Schanke of Kendall, Wis. and Mrs. Art. Tarangua of Wayzetta, Minn.; and two stepbrothers, John Whittaker of Aberdeen, S. Dak. and Roland Thompson of California. Out of town friends and relatives here for the last rites included Mrs. Etta Steffre, El Segundo, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. R.
