Hanson Dies at Whitehall Whitehall -- John P. Hanson, 79, for most of his life a resident of Strum but living for the past year at Whitehall, died Sunday evening (29 March 1942) at his home here after several months' illness. Born March 21, 1863, he came to Trempeleau county in 1869, where his parents settled on a farm near Strum. He served as county clerk for several years and served for some time as chairman and held various offices in the towns of Unity and Albion. He had been a county jury commissioner since 1909. He was married June 10, 1903 to Toline Veggum, who survives him. A daughter, Mrs. Alice Glover and two grandsons of Whitehall, also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday (4 April 1942) in the chapel of the Rhode funeral home at Whitehall and at the Lutheran church at Strum, the Rev. O. A. Hjemboe officiating.
