Hjemboe, Strum, Dies at Age of 85 Strum (Special) - The Rev. O. A. Hjemboe, 85, longtime pastor of the Lutheran churches at Strum and Pleasantville, died Wednesday night in the Whitehall Hospital following a long illness. Funeral rites will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Strum Lutheran Church, the Rev. Luther Monson officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday at the Strum Lutheran Chapel, and from noon to service time in the church sanctuary. The Kjentvet and Strand Funeral service is in charge of arrangements. Born in Norway The Rev. Mr. Hjemboe was born Nov. 13, 1880, in Risor, Norway. He was a sailor in Norway and later in the United States before taking a job as a carpenter in a shipyard in New York. He came to the United States 65 years ago. The lontime clerk studied theology at St. Olaf College and Luther Seminary prior to his ordination at St. Paul in 1914. The same year he married Johanna Aagre. The Rev. Mr. Hjemboe served his first pastorate in northern Minnesota, and in 1918 moved to Missoula, Mont., where he had charge of a mission congregation. In November of 1920 he arrived at Strum to be pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in the village as well as Grace Lutheran Church at nearby Pleasantville. After hist retirement in 1949, he continued his ministerial duties by conducting services in a rural Colfax parish. He later was chaplain at the Aase Haugen Home for the Aged in Decorah, Iowa. College Trustee Besides his church work, the Rev. Mr. Hjemboe was a trustee of the Gale College at Galesville. Surviving in addition to his wife of 52 years are one son, The Rev. Alf Hjemboe, Green Bay; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Nelson, Eau Claire, and Mrs. S. O. Holden, Westby; four sisters, Mrs. Helga Duff, Middlebury, Vt., Miss Rannei Hjemboe, New Jersey; and Anna and Inger, in Norway. Twelve grand- children also survive. (see a photo of Rev. O. A.
