Larson Taken Was a citizen of Town of Ettrick Half a Century Mrs. Lars P. Larson, one of the early settlers of the town of Ettrick, died last Friday evening at her home. Six weeks ago Mrs. Larson fell while returning from her son’s house to her home. She suffered a dislocated shoulder and bruises, but her condition was not considered serious. She failed to rally and then seemed to weaken. The end came almost without a warning. Funeral services were held Tuesday from the North Bend Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. W. H. Parri-Jones. Internment was made in the North Bend cemetery, where the parents of the deceased were buried many years ago. Mrs. Larson was born in Leeds, England May 12, 1842. Her maiden name was Grace Elizabeth Smith. She came to this country with her parents when a child and the family first settled in Walworth county this state. Later her parents removing to Trempealeau county, buying land in the town of Ettrick. She was married March 16, 1871, to Lars P. Larson at Melrose, the Rev. Benham, one of the early Methodist pastors, performed the ceremony. Their home was for more than forty years in the Beaver Creek valley near Ettrick. Mrs. Larson is survived by her husband and three children ---- George Larson, Mrs. Lud Emerson and Mrs. Staff Fillner. A brother, John Smith, lives in Ettrick.
