Then name of the victim was not released pending notification of next of kin. The Trempealeau County sheriff's department reported the accident occurred just north of Arcadia on County Trunk K. The victim was pronounced dead around 8:30 p.m. Michael Lettner Arcadia, Wis. - Arcadia businessman Michael Andrew Lettner, 37, Arcadia, Rt. 1, died of neck and chest injuries Monday (April 26, 1982). Mr. Lettner was a write-in candidate in the April 6 election for the Arcadia School Board. The owner and operator of Lettner Excavating, Lettner was trying to adjust a trailer house when the block slipped and he was pinned underneath. He was pronounced dead at 8:30 p.m. by Trempealeau County Coroner Jeffrey Mueller. He was born Oct. 20, 1944, in Arcadia to Leonard and Frances Herold Lettner. On Oct. 21, 1967, he and Junetth Bautch were married in St. Stanislaus Church, Arcadia. A Vietnam War veteran, he was a member of Tickfer-Erickson American Legion Post, was cubmaster of the Arcadia Scout Troop, was active with wrestling in Arcadia High School, and was a member of the Arcadia Sportsmen Club. He was instructor for hunter safety courses in Arcadia and Dodge and was a member of the National Rifleman's Association. Survivors are: two sons, Todd Michael and Jarett James, at home; his parents, Fountain City; four brothers, Henry, Thomas and Leonard Jr.., Fountain City, and George, Winona; and two sisters...
