Smith] Ettrick, Wis. – Carl P. Smith, [Pyrl G. Smith], 74, Ettrick, died Monday morning in a La Crosse hospital following a long illness. Services will be held ay 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Bridget’s Catholic Church with Rev. James Ennis officiating. Burial will be in St. Bridget’s Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Rosary will be at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, was born April 24, 1889, in South Beaver Creek area. He married Rose Quinn June 28, 1915. The couple farmed two miles northwest of Ettrick until 1957 when they moved into the village. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. S. W. (Madeline) Grogan of La Crosse, and Mrs. Ronald (Sybil) Beirne of Portage; three sons, Raymond of Beach, Richard of Ettrick, and Allan on the home farm; three sisters, Mrs. Mark Robinson of Kenyon, Minn., Mrs. Frank O’Connor of Elwood, Ill.; one brother, William of Kenyon, Minn.; 20 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. CORRECTION The obituary of Pyrl G. Smith, Ettrick, published Monday, listed his name as Carl P. Smith by mistake, Also, one of his daughters should be Mrs. S. W.
