Submitted by Marilyn Morgan 3 May 2004 ************************************************************************ Galesville Republican Sept. 18, 1969 WILLIAM SMITH, 86 Funeral services will be held __ p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, at South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church for William Smith, 86, who died in a home for the aged at Kenyon, Minn. Pastor Paul Wegner will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Smith was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, and was born Jan. 29, 1883 in South Beaver Creek. Fifty-nine years ago he married Dora Berger of Onalaska. For many years they farmed in South Beaver Creek Valley. Some years ago they moved to the home in Kenyon, Minn. He is survived by his wife; a son, Vilas, Merrilan, Wis.; a daughter, Mrs. Milfred (Dorothy) Dahl, Kenyon; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Salzwedel, Kenyon, and Mrs. Frank O’Conner, Ellwood, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
