HILLSBORO SENTRY ENTERPRISE,May 1944
Herman A. Setzer,74,for 54 years a well known resident of the town of 
Greenwood,died at six thirty Tuesday morning,May 16 at his home in that 
township.
 Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon May 18,at one thirty at 
the Setzer home and at two at the Debello Church.Burial will be in the Debello 
Cemetary.
 Herman A Setzer ,son of Mr. Mrs. Martin Luther Setzer,was born April 
23,1870,in Rock County Wisconsin.His boyhood and early youth were spent in his 
native community.While he was a young man,the Setzer family came to this 
locality and established their home on a farm in Greenwood township where 
Mr.Setzer continued to reside through the years until the time of his death.
 On March 25th,1900 he was married to Miss Mary Belle Hoffman,the ceremony 
taking place at Bloom City,Wisconsin.To them were born four children,three of 
whom survive their father.Mr. and Mrs. Setzer took an active role in their 
community.He attended the Debello Christian Church and had served the 
community as a member of the district school board.
 Surviving Mr.Setzer are:his wife,Mrs Mary Setzer of Greenwood township;two 
daughters,Mildred(Mrs.George Durkee)of Elroy and Lucinda(Mrs.Eldon Chitwood)of 
Clarion,Iowa.One son,Emery Setzer of Greenwood township;One brother,Elmer 
Setzer of Augusta,Wisconsin.One sister,Mrs.Frank Maxon,of Beloit.He was 
preceded in death by a son,Willie who died at the age of two years;one 
sister,Mrs.Nora Bunts;and one brother,John Setzer.
