LASHER On Friday evening, October 24, 1913, Mrs. A.D. Lasher died at her home in this village, after an illness of about a year, at the age of fifty- two years. Her death was not unexpected, as she has been in a critical condition for some months. Mrs. Lasher was born March 10, 1861, at Whitewater. Her maiden name was Amelia Annette Westphall. On April 14, 1883 she was united in marriage to Algernon D. Lasher. Immediately following their marriage, they became residents of Waterloo. Five children were born to them; Annette, died in infancy; Lenora (Mrs. Harold Towne); John Howard of Thorp, Wis.; Harvey Denvil, and Mary Claire. The surviving children with husband and father were all present when the final summons came. Besides her immediate family, Mrs. Lasher is survived by three brothers George, of Sheridan, Wyoming, Fred of Woodstock, Illinois, and Diedrich of Whitewater; and by three sisters, Mrs. Amy Cooley of Whitewater, Mrs. Joel Orton, of Briggsville, and Mrs. George Fritts, of Whitewater; and two grandchildren, Claude and Adrian Towne. Mrs. Lasher was a devoted wife and mother, and a kind and generous neighbor and friend. Her death is deeply mourned by every one who knew her. The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved family. The funeral took place Monday afternoon at one-thirty from the residence and at two o'clock from the M.E. Church. It was attended by a large number of people. The society of the Royal Neighbors, of which Mrs. Lasher was a member, attended in a body. There was an unusual number of floral tributes, Rev. F.P. Raby officiated. The bearers were R.A. McCracken, Dr. H.R. Abell, J.D. Johnson, George Q. Ames, Lewis Lewellin and August Hoffman. The interment took place at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
