Married 3 Jan 1834 to Catherine Walker in Carbrook, England. In 1837, they emigrated to U.S. Lived 18 years in Ogdensburg, NY. In 1855, they moved to Elkhorn, WI and lived in/around it for the rest of his life. His wife and nine children survived him. He was a long time member of the Methodist Church, and the funeral was held there on Nov. 5th. Five of his children were listed as attending the funeral: Mrs. W.H. (Fannie) Moorhouse and Miss Mary Farrar of Chicago, IL; Mrs. D.C.(Eliza) Paine of Trempealeau, WI; Mrs. J.Abbott(Katherine) Parker, of Minneapolis, MN; Mr. J.D. (James) Farrar of Norway, IA. Additional Comments: He was my great, great grandfather. Two more of his children should have been at the funeral, even though they weren't listed in the obituary. One was my great, great grandfather, John Walker Farrar, because he lived in Elkhorn. Also, George H. Farrar, another son, should have been there because he lived near Milwaukee, WI. There were only two other children not listed at all. They were Mrs. Charles(Elizabeth) Utter of Trempealeau, WI, and Mr. William Henry Farrar of Lime Springs, IA.
