Moorhouse, in Chicago, IL. She was a native of England, emigrated soon after her marriage to George Farrar. They lived in Ogdensburg, NY, before moving to Elkhorn. Since George Farrar's death in 1888, she had lived with her daughter in Chicago, though she had made trips back to Elkhorn, whenever possible. She belonged to the Episcopal Church as a youth, but joined the Methodist Church when she married George Farrar. She had 12 children, three of whom died as children. The other nine survived her. Those at the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. W.H. (Fannie)Moorhouse and their daughter, Sibyl; Miss Mary Farrar, all of Chicago, IL; Mrs. Eliza Payne, Trempealeau, WI; Mr. J.D.(James) Farrar of Nevada, IA; Mr. and Mrs. J.(Jay Bell) Farrar and Mrs. J. Harriman and daughters of Milwaukee, WI; Mrs. Edna Platt of Chester, IA; Mrs. J. (Georgia)Huntress, Mr. and Mrs. T. Stearns and daughter, Myrtle; George and John Farrar and families of Elkhorn; Also one great grandchild, Miss Ruth Hall of Chester, IA, and a friend, Miss Zella Merrick of Chicago. She was buried in Hazel Ridge Cemetary, Elkorn, beside her husband, George. Additional Comments: She was my great, great grandmother. Jay Bell Farrar was her grandson; son of George H. Farrar and Mrs. Georgia Huntress was her granddaughter, also a child of George H. Farrar. Mrs. Edna (Farrar) Platt was her granddaughter, the daughter of William Henry Farrar. Miss Ruth Hall was the child of Cora (Ava) Farrar Hall, and the grandchild of William Henry Farrar.
