Mayhew home where he had lived for over a year. Had a heart attack, while he was out in the town. He was born 5 May 1847 in Ogdensburg, NY. He came to Walworth County as a boy, and, with his parents, lived on a farm south of Elkhorn. He married Adaresta Wales on 30 Nov 1871 and they lived on that farm, until about 34 years before. John Walker loved horses and kept some even after moving into town. His wife, Adaresta, died 10 Feb 1824, One daughter, Mrs. Fred (Hilah Farrar) Madouse, also preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Everett (Laura Farrar) Davis of Chicago, IL; and two sons, Harry (Harrison Arthur) of Elkhorn, and Will (William Leo) of Chicago, IL. Also surviving are two brothers George H. Farrar of Elkhorn, and James D. Farrar of Hudson, IA; and two sisters, Mrs. J.Abbott (Cassie Farrar) Parker of San Francisco, CA and Mrs. W.H. (Fannie Farrar) Moorhouse, of Chicago, IL. The funeral was held at the Congregational Church and burial was in Hazel Ridge Cemetary. Additional Comments: He was my great grandfather.
