BAIER, 83, who had lived in the Spooner-Minong area since 1943 working on construction jobs, died Friday (9 Sept. 1983) at Spooner Community Memorial Hospital. He was born May 29, 1900, at New Ulm, Minn. Survivors include four daughters, Penny Black and Betty Rabideau, both of Tacoma, Wash., Pearl Polsfuss, St. Paul, and Rotha Huffer, Trego; 12 grand- children; 40 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Edward, Geraldine, Mont., Roman, Chicago, and Felix, Milwaukee and two sisters, Adeline Horner, St. Paul, and Loretta Cloves, Elmwood Park, Ill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, on Sept. 20, 1966, and by two sons. Services were held Monday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Father Richard Burzynski officiating.
