OBIT The Spooner Advocate 03/13/1980, p9 G. W. (Slim) Butenhoff, age 80, a resident of the town of Beaver Brook, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 1980, in Mexico City, Mexico while on vacation. Mr. Butenhoff was born on November 28, 1899 at Dows, Ia. and came to Washburn County around 1915. On October 21, 1927 he was united in marriage to the former Isadore Thompson in Minnesota. Mr. Butenhoff was a retired farmer from the Washburn County area. He was a member of the Sarona United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Isadore; two daughters, Delores (Mrs. Edwin) Bosshardt, Silverton, Ore., Betty (Mrs. Harold) Bosshardt, Sauk Centre, Minn.; one son, Norman, Shell Lake; 12 grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, one sister, Martha Thomas, Earl; many nieces and nephews. Three sisters and six brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services were held on Monday, March 10, 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Shell Lake, the Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Spring burial will be in the Earl Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Dahl Funeral Home on Sunday.
