Frederick Reginald Corkran, Jr., 91, Spooner, died on Tuesday, July 26, at Community Memorial Hospital in Spooner. He was born on Aug. 22, 1902, in Owensound, ontario, Canada, to Frederick Reginald Corkran and Laura (King) Corkran. He served in World War I with the Canadian Army and then as Chief Machinist in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He and Adeline A. Osberg were united in marriage on Nov. 19, 1929, in Duluth. He worked for the Northern States Power Co. highbridge Plant in St. Paul for 33 years until his retirement on June 30, 1965. The couple moved to Trego after retirement and resided on the Namekagon Flowage. He was a 33rd Degree Mason in the Masonic Order of F. and A.M. He is survived by his wife, Adeline, Spooner; one son, Patrick Reginald Corkran, St. Paul; one sister, Bertha Wagner, Elyria, Ohio; six grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 29, at Dal Funeral Home in Spooner, with Rev. Richard G. Maser officiating. Interment was in Sunrise Memorial Cemetery in Duluth. Dahl Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
