This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Nance Sampson 24 February 1999 ==================================================================== Chris DAHL, 92, who came to the Shell Lake area in 1905 to work as a cook in a lumber camp, died May 25 (1982) at the Spooner Nursing Home. Dahl and his wife, Christina, whom he married Jan. 9, 1917, moved to Spooner in 1922 where he was employed with the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. He retired at the end of 1954. His wife died in 1939. Survivors include a son, LeRoy, Spooner; two daughters, Mrs. Sy Krenn and Mrs. Herb Carman, both of Spooner; a brother, John, Albuquerque; a sister, Lillie Norgard, Hebron, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Services were held Saturday at Spooner United Methodist Church, Rev. Amos Shimko officiating.
