This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Nance Sampson 16 February 1999 ==================================================================== GALVIN, Oram One of the largest funerals ever held in Birchwood took place on Wednesday of last week when the final rites were conducted for Oram Galvin, and his remains were laid to rest in Woodlawn cemetery. Rev. Gardner officiated in the services at the Methodist church. Oram Seva Galvin, who died on Sunday, April 11, 1937, was born in Adamsville, Canada, August 11, 1858. He came to Mauston, Wisconsin, in 1865 and was united in marriage to Ida Almira Claflin in 1880. They moved to Birchwood in 1923 where they have resided ever since. Eight children were born to this union, namely, Mrs. Olive Williams, Mrs. Essie Lackey, Mrs. Fanny Senogles, John Galvin, Mrs. Mary Wentland, Mrs. Bernice Millard, Clinton Galvin and Howard Galvin. His wife and two daughters, Fanny and Bernice, preceded him in death. Besides his six children, he leaves to mourn his loss, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Deceased was honorable and upright in all his dealings. He had the ability of making and retaining friends. Those who attended the funeral from out-of-town were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry DeWolf, Barron; John Chaflin, Harry Galvin, Wilsie Gilmore, Ed. Ingles, Mauston; Mr. and Mrs. George Jackish and Mrs. Victor Niles, Minneapolis, Minn. The pallbearers were J. A. Morey, H. L. LaPointe, Ed Dityman, Jos. Robotke, Jr., Wm.
