Hoyt, 72, Town of Rusk, died on Sunday, July 17, at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. She was born on Aug. 19, 1912, to Ernest and Christine (Hinz) Morrow in the Town of Rusk, where she was a life-long resident. She was a 1939 graduate of Spooner High School. In September of 1941 she was united in marriage to Harold Hoyt. They owned and operated Hoyt's resort on Benoit Lake. She was a former employee of the Spooner School District and the Shell Lake Hospital. Her husband died in 1979. She was a member of Green Grove C&MA Church in the Town of Rusk. She is survived by two daughters, Janice Roe, St. Paul, and Ernestine Dotty, Mounds View, Minn.; two sons, Arthur, Coon Rapids, Minn., and David, Spooner; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Shirley Rucker, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Milo Morrow, Glendora, Calif., and Neven Morrow, Bend, Ore., one stepsister, Rachel Morey, Mondovi; and neices and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was precedded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Bill Becker, and a brother, Marvin. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 20, at Wesleyan Church in Spooner, with Pastor Thomas Lindberg of Green Grove Church officiating. Arrangements were handled by Scalzo Funeral Home, Spooner.
