This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Vicki Pierce 1 February 2003 ==================================================================== The Spooner Advocate Spooner, WI, page 14 January 16, 1986 MOEN Carrie Gertrude Moen, age 84, a resident of Spooner and former resident of the Town of Beaver Brook, passed away at the Spooner Nursing Home on Saturday, January 11, 1986. she was born on November 15, 1901 in Downing, Wisconsin. For many years she lived in the Town of Beaver Brook where she and her husband Martin farmed. Most recently she had lived at the Spooner Nursing Home. On September 17, 1919 the former Carrie Young was united in marriage to Martin Moen in Spooner. Her husband preceded her in death in 1959. Three children also preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters; Alice Johnson of Rice Lake, Lillian Faber of Trego, Mary Jordan of Vancouver Wash; five sons, Roy of Vancouver, Wash; Robert and Henry both of Trego, Edward of Beloit, Donald of Medford; 33 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Nellie Love and Laurel Melton both of Spooner, three brothers, George of Stone Lake, William of Minneapolis, Irvin of Vassar, Mich. Funeral services were held on Tuesday 11 a.m. at the Dahl Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Kruger officating. Burial will be in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner. Visitation was held on Monday 4-9 p.m. at the Dahl Funeral Home in Spooner. p94-228 Wisconsin Historical Society Microfilm
