This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Kelly O'Brian 19 July 2004 ==================================================================== The Spooner Advocate Spooner, Washburn Co., WI Thursday, March 12, 1931 FRANK SPAFFORD, SR., ANSWERS SUMMONS Frank Spafford, well known citizen of Shell Lake and a resident of Washburn County for many years, died at his home in Shell Lake Monday, March 9, 1931, at the age of 62 years. Death was caused by pneumonia after an illness of short duration. Deceased was born in Lake City, Minn., March 15, 1868, where he spent the early years of his life, moving to Minneapolis with his parents in 1882, where he lived until 1895, when he moved to Minong, this county, and engaged in business. He moved to Shell Lake with his family in 1910 and has been engaged in the feed and fuel business there. He was married to his surviving widow in Minneapolis in 1891, and to this union the following surviving children were born; Wm. F. Spafford, Shell Lake; Mrs. Albert S. Johnson, New Brunswick, N.J.; Mrs. Fred Rickford, Verona, N.D.; Ray, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Norman Stouffer, Ashland; Leland, Madison; Fred Reau, at home. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock this Thursday afternnon from the Methodist church in Shell Lake, Rev.
