She was born on Nov. 19, 1899, to Ole and Ella (Mills) Wang in Shell Lake and was a life-long resident of Shell lake. Gladys attended school in Shell Lake and Milwaukee Downer College, and graduated in music from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. On June 9, 1922, she married Russell (Scoop) Stouffer. He preceded her in death in 1973. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter. Gladys was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church and remained active in its guild until entering the nursing home. Survivors include; one daughter, Sue Sterns, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Shell Lake, with Fr. Ward Simpson officiating. Burial was in Shell Lake Cemetery. There was no visitation. Pockat Funeral Home, Shell Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
