Toll, 84, Dewey Township, died on Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Indianhead Medical Center, Shell Lake. She was born on March 22, 1910, to Hallie and Azeeta Cornellison in Burnett County. She graduated from Shell Lake High School and received her teaching degree at River Falls. On June 7, 1936, she was married to J. Cecil Toll in the Town of Rusk. Following their marriage they resided in the Township of Dewey. She taught for more than 30 years, first in Burnett and Washburn counties rural schools and at Shell Lake Schools until retiring in 1974. She was a member of Shell Lake United Methodist Church and its Omega Circle. She was a 4-H leader of the Bashaw club and on the entertainment committee for the Spooner Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 1991. Survivors include one daughter, Tamara (Dean) Hillman, Chappaqua, N.Y.; two sons, James, Wayzata, Minn., and Ted, Shell Lake; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Beryl Gilpin, Oceanside, Calif., Voyne Swan, Shell Lake, and Hallie Henning, Goose Creek, S.C. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, at Shell Lake United Methodist Church, with Dr. Melvin Vilhauer officiating. Burial will be in Shell Lake Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Pockat Funeral Home, Shell Lake, and an hour before the service at the church on Friday.
