Dennison 26 June 2000 ==================================================================== Mrs. Elnora Wallace Elnora DeWitt Wallace was born in the State of Iowa on September 11, 1875 and grew to womanhood there. On December 22, 1897 she was united in marriage to William Sydney Wallace in Crawford County, Iowa. To this union 7 children were born. The family remained in Iowa until 1904 when they moved to Gordon, Wisconsin, later they moved to Trego and have resided in Minong since 1928. Mrs. Wallace had been seriously ill three weeks when she passed away on Friday, November 12 [1954] at the Shell Lake Hospital at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 1 day. Her husband and daughter preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Orval and Charles of Rochester, MN, and Walter of Minong; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Edlund of St. Paul, MN; Mrs. Gertrude Fye and Mrs. Marjory Green of Minong; also 36 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and one brother. Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 14th at 2:00 PM from the Presbyterian Church in Minong, Reverend Wilde of Superior officiated. Burial in Minong cemetery. [Obituary in Spooner Advocate.]
