This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Louise Hopkins 2 February 2000 ==================================================================== Mrs. William Welch, age 27 years, 5 months, adn 25 days, died at her home four miles northeast of Minong, at three o'clock Friday morning following an attack of influenza which developed into pneumonia. The remains were brought to Spooner and buried beside her brother Clarence in the Spooner cemetery. The remains were accompanied by her husband and his brother and her sister Mary, who was with her when the end came. They were met at Spooner by her mother, Mrs. M. J. Randall, her sister, Mrs. Gustave Erickson and daughter Cornelia; and her brother Walter, also friends and neighbors who followed her to her last resting place. The services were conducted by Rev. Kneen. Miss Jessie Randll was united in marriage to William Welch, of Minong, June 20th, 1917, where they lived when the angel of death came and took the young wife, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs. Gustave Erickson and Mary Randall of Spooner; three brothers, Walter Randall of Spooner, George Randall now in France and Francis Randall of Asakis, Minn. Mrs. Welch joined the Methodist Church at Spooner when a girl and lived in that faith until the time of her death.
