On August 28, 1854, she married Joachim Niemann, and the same year the couple left for America, landing in West Bend on Oct 26. They immediately established their home here and continued their residence in West Bend until death claimed them. Mr. Niemann's death occurring on April 8, 1888. Their union was blessed with eleven children, seven of whom died in infancy and the youngest, Mrs. S.W. Classey, passed away on Jan 7, 1894. Those surviving are Louis of Milwaukee, Herman of Philippa, and Bertha (Mrs. Peter Felten) at the old home in this city. The deceased is also Survived by eight grand-children and four great-grandchildren. The funeral was held last Friday afternoon under the auspices of The English M. E. Church, Rev. A. Hoad officiating. Interment being made in Union Cemetery. Mrs. Niemann was one of the city's sterling women, one who lived through the pioneer days with true christian fortitude. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, and during her long residence in this city, enjoyed the highest esteem of all of her neighbors and friends. She lived a long and useful life and is entitled to the peaceful rest so justly due her and all who have lived as well. To her bereaved children we extend our heartfelt sympathy. The following attended the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Niemann, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miller and daughter Mildred, Mr. and Mrs. V. Classey and son Robert, George Oscar and Miss Cora Niemann of Milwaukee, Hermann Niemann and daughter Hattie of Philippa, Mrs. H. Friedrich and Mrs. Sophia Hurley of Winona, Minn.
