Obituary of Margarette HOERIG, Washington Co., WI Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives November 4, 2003 by Marvin Hoerig Kewaskum Statesman 5 April, 1902 Margarette Hoerig, beloved wife of F.X. Hoerig, died at her home here on Tuesday, April 1, 1902, at 11p.m., after a lingering illness, aged 60 years. Deceased was born in Prussia, Germany, on July 22, 1841. She came to America with her parents when she was 13 years of age, locating in the town of Addison, where she was married to Mr. Hoerig in 1859. After their marriage they moved to Schleisengerville, and after living there six months they moved to Wrightstown and one year later to Kohlsville, where they lived nine years; then they moved to this place where she died. She leaves behind, besides her husband, seven boys and four girls, viz: Joseph, of Lomira; Nic., of Ashford; John, of Hartford; Frank, of St. Michaels; Christ, of Hartford; Simon, Math, Dora and Lizzie, who live at home; Katie (Mrs. Peter Groff) of St. Lawrence; Tina (Mrs. Bastian Yogerst) of Hortonville. The funeral which was largely attended took place from St. Bridgets Church at 10am yesterday (Friday). The bereaved relatives have our sympathy.
