He had lived for the past 20 years in Hartford and was generally well-liked. He was born on the 4th of February 1833 in Buch in the Rhine province and came to America, settling in Milwaukee, and 20 years ago moved to Hartford. He was married to his wife, who died in 1890, in 1855 and the union produced 10 children, of whom only 3 are still alive. The funeral was Tuesday from St. Kilian's Catholic Church in Hartford under the direction of Father Bertram.
