Obituary: Waukesha County, Wisconsin: Ann CARROLL ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, June 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Waukesha Plaindealer September 26, 1865 Died At her residence in Genesee, Sept. 25, 1865, Ann, wife of Patrick Carroll, aged 55 years and 2 months. The deceased was a native of Ireland, and a convert to the Catholic Church. She was akind and affectionate wife and mother. As a member of society, she was unsurpassed. She was a good christian, and always took delight in doing works of benificence.- She was good in the brighest acceptation of the term. Good is a positive quality. Beauty may bloom and fade, fresh flowers of loveliness may bud, expand and die; but goodness of heart, we all know, is the key-stone of the arch, the gem of every perfection, and never loses its attractive powers. After the deceased had made peace with her God, and received the last rites of her church, she breathed a sign of contentment, and appeared as calm and peaceful as an infant sleeping on its mother's breast. It was then that her mind, free from the agitation and tumult of the passions, was calm and tranquil, like the still serenity of the evening, when the busy sound of labor is hushed, and the glare of the meridian sun has passed away. Itg was then that she was ready to sink into a peaceful slumber, again to rise in brighter splendor, and renew in another world the course destined for her by the Almight Ruler of the Universe. A few hours later and the couch on which she lay, was the couch of death.
