Died

In this village, on the 20th inst., very suddenly, Hon. Adam
E. Ray, aged 58 years.

Mr. Ray came to this county in 1839; was soon after elected
to the Assembly.  For several years he was chairman of the
County Board of Supervisors, afterwards he removed to
Walworth County, where he was elected to the state Senate.
He moved back to this county about one year ago.  His health
has been quite feeble for the last ten years, but he was
around doing business till the day before his death.  He was
a good business man and very much respected by all who knew
him.
