Obituary: Waukesha County, Wisconsin: George Eugene Slawson ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, June 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Waukesha Plaindealer September 18, 1866 Died In this village, on the morning of the 16th inst., of Consumption, George Eugene Slawson, aged 21 years 7 months and 11 days. The funeral services will be held at his father's residence, on Wisconsin street, to-day at 1 o'clock. Eugene, as he was familiarly called, was a very promising, talented young man, the pride and favorite of doting parents. He had no enemies and all who knew him respected and admired his noble qualities, both of head and heart. For the last six or eight years he had been unable to do much manual labor. He was a printer by trade, and often assisted a day or town at a time, in this office. He was also a capital penman and at times, rendered us valuable assistance in that line- in short we looked upon him as one of our family, who was ever ready to render assistance when called upon, and shall over mourn his loss as a near and dear friend.
