In this village, on the evening of the 25th inst., Wm.
Soper, Esq., aged 64 years.

Mr. S. had been confined to his room for nearly four weeks,
and we learn that his sickness was caused by a tumour which
gathered in his throat, and finally produced death.  His
funeral services were held on Sudnay afternoon at the
Presbyterian church, of which he was a very worth and
exemplary member.  Nearly all the time, for the last ten or
twelve years, he had held important offices in this county,
and unlike all others, never to our knowledge, made an
enemy.  All doing business with him, had the utmost
confidence in his integrity and honesty of purpose.
