All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/wi/wifiles.htm *********************************************************************** Source: Waupaca County Court, Vol. 1 Certificates of Citizenship (LDS FHL #2230680) page 178 Certificate of Citizenship TO THE JUDGE OF THE 7TH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT OF THE STATE OF WISCONSIN The petition of August Bolinski a native of Prussia respectfully show that your petitioner August Bolinski arrived in the United States of America, to wit: At the port of New York in the month of May, A.D. 1852 (And that in pursuance of an act of Congress, entitled, An act to establish an uniform rule of naturalization, and to repeal the acts passed upon that subject,) made a declaration of intention on the 1st day of Nov A.D. 1852, a certificate whereof is hereunto annexed, and that he has resided within the limits of the States for over 20 years last past, and in the State of Wisconsin for the last year, that he has never borne any hereditary title, or been of the order of nobility in the kingdom whereof he came, or elsewhere; he therefore prays that he may be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. Briggs, Citizen of the United States, being duly sworn according to law, say that they are well acquainted with the above named August Bolinski and that to their knowledge an dbelief, he has resided within the limits and under the jurisdiction of the United States for the last 5 years past, and that for one year past he has resided within the State of Wisconsin, and during the same period he has behaved himself as a man of good character, attended to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. Binkelman, Clerk August Bolinski being the above petitioner, on my solemn oath, do declare that the contents of the petition are true, and that I will support the Constitution of the United States, and that I do hereby renounce all allegiance and fidelity, and abjure all title or order of nobility which I am or may hereafter be entitled, to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereign whatever, and particularly to the Government of Prussia of which I was a subject. Declaration of Intention STATE OF WISCONSIN} WINNEBAGO COUNTY} ss. August Bolinski personally appeared before the subscriber, the Clerk of the Circuit Court, for the State of Wisconsin, for said county, being a court of Record, and made oath, that he was born in Prussia on or about the year one thousand Eight hundred and twenty one that he emigrated to the United States, and landed at the port of New York, on or about the month of Mai, in the year eighteen hundred and fifty two, and that it is bona fide his intention, to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever, all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignity whatever, and particularly to Frideric William, King of Prussia whereof he is a subject.
