William Aylward, manufacturer of stoves, plows, kettles, etc.; was born in
Ireland May 4, 1838; came to America with his parents in 1844; lived at
Bellevue, Canada, one year, father died there; then came to Rochester,
N.Y., where his mother died.  William lived in the State of New York most
of the time until he came to Neenah, Wis., in 1859; he was foreman in the
foundry of Moore & Bro. for several years, and in 1871 he established his
own factory; he began with two men, now employs eighteen men, and is now
melting 3,000 pounds of iron per day.  Mr. Aylward was married at Neenah in
February, 1860, to Catharine Dolan, a native of Ireland; they have seven
children- William, Catharine, Edmund, Ella, James and Mary.  Mr. A. is now
Alderman of the First Ward.
