Evan Davis, foreman for W. L. & Co.; was born in Denhigh, Wales, March 8,
1848; came to the United States in 1845; accompanied by his parents, and
settled in Fond du Lac Co., Wis.; engaged in farming.  Came to Oshkosh in
1868, and engaged in sash, door and blind factory, in different
departments, and has followed the business since.  Mr. Davis was married
Oshkosh in 1873, to Mary E. Edwards, a native of Wales.  They have had four
children, of which there survive three- Ellen E., Bessie and Hugh Edwards. 
Mr. Davis is a member of the Welsh Calvinistic Church, and of the order of
Good Templars.
