Emigrated to America with his parents when he was two years of age, and settled in Syracuse, N.Y. He lived at home until 1865; then came to Oshkosh, and was foreman in the N.W.R.R. blacksmith shops for sixteen years; then began business for himself in May, 1880; he employs four men, and does a large business; was married in Syracuse, N.Y., May 12, 1857, to Miss M.A. Maloy, who was born in the latter city; they have four sons and three daughters- Mary C., Thomas H., Walter F., Richard H., Annie E., Alice L. and Edward M.
