Biography: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Louis Herziger ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, January 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ History of northern Wisconsin: containing an account of its settlement, growth, development, and resources, an extensive sketch of its counties, cities, towns and villages, their improvements, industries, manufactories, biographical sketches, portraits of prominent men and early settlers, views of county seats, etc. Chicago: Western Historical Co., 1881 p. 1174 Louis Herziger, meat market, grocery, etc.; was born in Saxony July 26, 1838; came to the United States in 1847; located in Ozaukee Co., Wis., and engaged in butchering with his father; in 1868, he moved to Appleton and opened a meat market, remaining until 1776, when he moved to Waupaca Co., and engaged in farming and brewing, and from there moved to Neenah in 1881; was first married in Ozaukee Co. to Miss Mollie Gaulitz; she died, leaving two children, of which survives one daughter-Annie. Was married to his present wife- Miss E. Stagemann, in the same place; they have seven children- Charlie, Mollie, Emma, John, Ida, Louis, Minnie. Mr. H. is a member of the A., F. & A. M., of Appleton, and the I.O.O.F., of Waupaca.
