Johnston, sawyer Diamond Match Co., born in Colchester Co., Nova Scotia, Aug. 3, 1850; came to Wisconsin in 1858, and located in Oshkosh; has been engaged in several different shingle-mills; was shingle and stave sawing about four years, and has run a drag-saw, his present occupation, about eleven years. He was married in Stockbridge, Calumet Co., July 24, 1872, to Miss Ella Eldridge, of that county, a native of New York State. They have two children- Gracie and Jessie. Mr. Johnston has belonged to the Volunteer Fire Department about ten years, six of which he was foreman.
