The subject of our sketch was in a mill about thirteen miles from Appleton some five years; then moved to Wausau, where he was foreman of W.B. Kelly's mills about three years; meeting with an accident, he was disabled eight or ten months. Came to Oshkosh in 1880 and engaged with Hume & Washburn, now Hume alone.
