Baum & Co., where he continued until the fire of 1875, after which the firm was known as Baum & Mehlman. He continued about fifteen months, when he began business with his brother, as noted above. He was born in Milwaukee Oct. 29, 1852, and lived there about sixteen years; traveled in different portions of the West, working at the cigar trade, and finally located in Oshkosh. Was married in Oshkosh, Wis., in November, 1875, to Miss Paulina Zeilinger, who was born in Oshkosh, Wis. They have three children- Alma, Albert and Matilda.
