E, 2d Wis. Vol.; served three years and was mustered out at Washington June 16, 1864. He came home on a furlough in 1862, and was married in Oshkosh to Miss Sophia Kuebler, a native of Bavaria; they have five children- Albert J., Eddie S., Ida M., Theodore L. and Litta H. S. Mr. Ostertag is a member of the Turners' Society, the Sons of Hermann and the G. A. R.
