Winnebago County, Wisconsin - Tice Cemetery Town of Omro, Winnebago County, Wisconsin *********************************************************************************************** Submitted by Shawn Patrick Duffy The Survey: was conducted on June 24, 2000, by Shawn Duffy, Edith Tice Duffy, Seoda Duffy and Eric Wooddell, and includes all markers existing as of that date. In addition to the transcriptions of the readable parts of all markers (below), digital photographs were taken of all markers. Photographs may be obtained as e-mail attachments by contacting sduffy@wi.rr.com Directions and General Information: The Tice Cemetery is located in the Town of Omro in Winnebago County, T 18 N, R 15 E, section 33. From the southwest part of Oshkosh, follow County Highway K to County Highway F (Elo Road) about 5 miles. Turn south on F (Elo Road) for approximately 0.5 miles. The cemetery is on the west side of the road. The two fieldstone columns that mark the main entrance to the cemetery each bear a marble stone reading "Tice Cemetery, 1850". As of this date, the cemetery contains a total of 108 markers, but burials are still taking place here. There are no visible indications of subdivisions, rows, etc. in the cemetery and the placement of graves is rather irregular, at least in the older areas. The land is part of parcels left to his descendants by Frederick Tice in his will of May 17, 1865, on file at the Winnebago County Courthouse. The transcriptions that follow begin with markers nearest the northeast corner and progress in an approximate zigzag pattern, moving to the west, then south to the next marker, then east to the road, then south to the next marker, then west again, and so on to the southwest corner. *********************************************************************************************** Transcription: 1.
