The Neenah Gazette October 17, 1874
Winnebago Paper Mills
     "Mr. J.R. Davis, Sr. in company with John R. Ford and Hiram Shoemaker, and 
others organized a stock company for the purpose of building and operating a 
paper mill.  The company is now composed of J.R. Davis, President; John R. 
Ford, Secretary; Hiram Shoemaker, Secretary; these officrs act as board of 
directors.  In addition to the above, the following named persons are 
stockholders:  Charles Henry Service, Cornelius Newman , Mrs. E.A. Servis, and 
S.M. Brown.  The dimentions of the mill are as follows:
     main building 40x70 feet, two stories and basement
    machine room 90x30 feet, one story and basement
    engine room 16x22
    all built of solid brick and stone masonry with fire proof roof etc. 
    Cost of the above between $50,000 and $75,000.
    The machinery was all furnished by Messrs. Merill & Houston of Beloid, 
Wisconsin, including their famous water wheels."
     

Additional Comments:
Charles Henry Service was the 2nd husband of John R. Ford's sister Nancy Ann 
Ford (Wheeler).
Cornelius Newman was the husband of John R. Ford's sister Matilda Ford.
Mrs. E.A. Servis was Elizabeth Amelia Imus (Ford) who was a sister to John R. 
Ford's wife Hattie Imus (Ford) - plus Amelia was the widow of John R. Ford's 
brother William E. Ford Jr. Widow Elizabeth Amelia Imus (Ford) married Charles 
Henry Service's deceased sister (Julia Ann Service (Servis)'s widower William 
Servis [the carriagemaker from Sheboygan Falls, Winnebago Co., Wisconsin].
