Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Vernice Emery ANDERSON ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, December 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Winneconne Local July 26, 1917 p.1 Unexpected Death of Young Man Vernice Emery, youngest son of Henry Anderson and grandson of Mrs. Isabelle Harper died at St. Mary's hospital at Milwaukee, Wednesday morning, July 18, following an operation for ulcers. The operation proved very successful though other conditions retarted his life being saved. Vernice Anderson was born at Winneconne, May 3, 1898. He has lived almost all his life at Winneconne. He was a student of the Winneconne High school and a graduate of the same in the class of 1915. His mother died Sept. 21, 1906. Being motherless he has been cared for a great deal by relatives which has made him very dear and his untimely death has caused a feeling of deepest sorrow. His cheerful disposition and smiling face has endeared him to all who knew him. Surviving relatives, Father, two brother Joseph and Henry, two sisters Isabelle and Gladys and grandmother, Mrs. Isabelle Harper, besides numerous other relatives. Funeral services were held at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Isabelle Harper Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. L.J. Albert officiating. the remains being laid at rest beside his departed mother in the village cemetery.
