Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: George BEISER, Sr ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, November 2004 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Winneconne Local Dec. 10, 1914 p.1 George Beiser, Sr. was born near Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio, August 23, 1845. In the year 1871 at the age of 26 years he moved to Wisconsin where he spent the remainder of his life. December 22nd, 1874, he was united in marriage to Catherine Stutzman. Three children blest the happy union, two sons and a daughter, the daughter passing away in infancy. In the spring of 1875 Mr. and Mrs. Beiser settled on the farm in the town of Winneconne now owned and occupied by Mr. Schmeling. Mrs. Beiser preceded her husband in death July 9, 1896. Up until the past year Mr. Beiser spent his winters in Winneconne and Oshkosh and in the summer lived with son George Jr. at whose home he died. Mr. Beiser served a number of years on the Winneconne town board resigning this position in the fall of 1892. His brother V. Beiser was elected to fill his place. Mr. Beiser is survived by his two sons George and Jay and one brother Valentine of Winneconne. Funeral held Wednesday at the home of George Beiser Jr. at 1:30. Interment in the Beiser lot at Bell cemetery. Rev. Codd officiating and Mrs. Leo Cyrtmus and Miss Emma Gussee contributed the singing.
