Mr. Billstein had been in poor health, though not seriously ill, for a week, and his death was necessarily a great shock to his friends. Only yesterday he attended to a number of business duties and was about the city as usual. Last evening he entertained a party of gentlemen friends at cards until a late hour. Mr. Billstein had prepared to leave this morning for Mount Clemens, Mich., where he was to join his wife, who was also in delicate health and had been taking the water cure at that place. His death leaves a wife and five children, four daughters, Mrs. Kataz, of Yankton, S.D., Mrs. George Hirsch, of Austin, Minn., Mrs. Herman Baum, of Chicago, and Mrs. Leo Polachech, of Chicago. Moses Billstein, the only son of the deceased, is a resident of this city. Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been completed, on account of the fact that the family is so scattered.
