R. M. Buck, who has been gradually failing in health from old age, died at
his home in this village, on Thursday evening at ten o'clock.  The funeral
was held at the Methodist church, at 2 o'clock on Sunday afternoon after
which the body was taken to the Junction for burial R.W. Reynolds assisted
by Revs. Woodhead and Adams conducted the services.

Mr. Buck was born June 21, 1808, in the state of New York, where he lived
until he was twelve years of age, when he came west.  In 1846 he settled on
a piece of land in what is now the town of Oshkosh.  He was the father of
fourteen children, all by his first wife, who died in 1886.
