Callies, aged seventy-two years, a well known resident of Oshkosh, died Saturday of general debility. He was a millwright and pattern maker. In 1849 he came to this country from Germany and settled in Milwaukee and afterwards Watertown. In 1852 Mr. Callies moved to Oshkosh and four years later married Miss Mary Kramer. He is survived by his wife Mary and children, Frank, Albert, William, Walter, Arthur, Mrs. Frank Metz, Mrs. O. C. Schloerb, and the Misses Hattie, Alma and Emma Callies. The funeral will occur at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the residence on 284 Otter street. Additional Comments: The German language newspaper obituary on file at the Oshkosh Public Library gives Charles Callies age as seventy-three years and his wife's name as Marie Kremer.
