Death of Mrs. Carter

An Estimable Oshkosh Lady Dies Today of Cancer

Mrs. B. F. Carter died last evening at the residence on High street, after
a long and painful illness.  Her maiden name was Louisa Runnels. She was
born at Concord, N.H. in 1829.  She married B. F. Carter in 1850, who with
eight children and one brother, survive to mourn their loss.  Mr. and Mrs.
Carter came to Wisconsin in 1861, and have resided in Oshkosh for the last
eight years.

Mrs. Carter bore her intense sufferings with wonderful patience and
fortitude.  She was a devoted wife and mother, and the kindest of
neighbors.  The funeral services will be held from the residence on Friday
afternoon at two o'clock.  Rev. Edward H. Smith officiating.
